The Best Red Lipsticks

redlipsticks5From my experience, women either love wearing red lipstick or loathe it. Either you’re in the club, or you’re firmly against it. But I think all women should wear it, even if it’s just once a year during the holidays. I love the glamorous, retro feeling it brings. And with Christmas coming up, this is your time to pucker up and show off those red lips!
The Best Red Lipsticks - Along Abbey Road
I’ve rounded up my five favorite red lipsticks that I’ve been wearing over the past five years. They are a mix of high and low lipsticks, so it fits any budget.
NYX Matte Lipstick in Perfect Red. All of the NYX lipsticks are wonderful for just $6 a pop, and they stay on well. I alos always use NYX lip liner. It’s as great as the expensive stuff.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw. This lipstick is INSANE. Forget about all that Lipsense junk. This stuff is basically like tattooing red lips on your face. (I see what you’re doing there, Kat!) Really though, it doesn’t move at all and the color is gorgeous.
MAC Red Lipstick in Ruby Woo. If you are more fair-skinned like me and prefer cool undertones in your lip color, this is the lipstick for you! It’s my personal favorite and lasts forever, so it’s worth the investment.
Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Enticing. If you just cannot bring yourself to lather on a layer of lipstick, start with this lip crayon. It’s like the gateway drug of lipstick. It’s not fussy, it’s easy to apply, and there’s the perfect pop of color without overdoing it. I have almost every color in all the Revlon lip crayons, and love wearing them for an everyday look.
NARS Audacious Lipstick in Carmen. This lipstick is the queen of all red lipsticks. It’s definitely a splurge, but it’s the highest quality and this is the perfect red. I feel glamorous and fancy whenever I wear this, and like to bust it out for special occasions.
Have fun channeling your inner Audrey or Marilyn. Happy shopping!
