Ah, ah, ah, ah, stayin' alive, stayin' alive. The song that has stuck with me since I finished watching Saturday Night Fever next to 'Burn Baby Burn', I have got the 70's groove inside of me and all I want to do is have a boogie on a disco floor in a floral jumpsuit. I've always loved everything about the 70's, so when I was invited to the press performance of Saturday Night Fever, I was certainly not going to let that opportunity slip away to the stages dance floor without me.
If your a fan of all things 70's related, with the music, the fashion and ALL the dancing, you are in for an absolute treat if you watch this show. It's on at the Belgrade Theatre until 21st September in Coventry. I loved it that much I'm even contemplating on going to see it again and take my Mum along with me! As my love for the 70's style & music did come from her. Speaking of style, the wardrobe styling for the cast was SPOT ON. I've even come away with some inspiration for outfits for AW19. I want to get all my boots, patterned skirts and dresses out to style them like the casts outfits. The cast themselves were honestly brilliant! Could not fault them, especially their dance moves, honestly incredible. Whoever choreographed it should be proud. The main actor being Richard Winsor who you might have seen on Casualty before, was the star of the show, not only the most insane male dancer you could ever see, but definitely one to see in tight fitted flares, if that won't make you want to see the show I don't know what will!
The best thing about the music was the fact they had some brilliant singers as the Bee Gees - honestly GOLD. And I mean gold as they were, quite literally. I was dancing to every song in my seat and all I wanted to do was get up and boogie, which did happen in the end as it turned the place into a disco with everybody dancing. The best evening ever. Amazing, cannot fault it. Absolutely brilliant show!
