"There is a child in every one of us who is still a trick-or-treater looking for a brightly-lit front porch." Robert Brault
For someone who claims to love celebrating anything and everything, I’ve left it pretty late to celebrate Halloween this year! Everyone has already moved onto Christmas with the first Christmas trees and gift ideas popping up in shops and we have only just had our annual Halloween party.
I absolutely love any reason to celebrate and make the most out of an occasion, and so Halloween provides the perfect excuse to eat a ton of themed food and watch Hocus Pocus as many times as I want! I love themed parties and creating different images of myself. I believe that having a theme for the Halloween party is a great way to set the mood for the guests and to make it memorable for years to come.
Anyone who says Halloween is reserved for trick and treating children hasn’t been to the right party. Grown-ups can enjoy bowls of grog, clever canapés and the opportunity to wear a wig as much as kids – if not more. But organising an impressive costume is a feat in itself, and then you have to worry about choosing spooky décor and freakish food.
We had an incredibly exciting and busy last two weeks fulfilled with shopping for Halloween decorations, scary party food, decorating the house in endless spider webs, pumpkins, fake spiders (with occasional live additions) and obviously watching lots of horror films! It was actually the best time to go out shopping with all the shops trying to get rid of the Halloween stuff at huge discounts.
This year I decided to go with a glam themed Voodoo look with glittery statement makeup. It was so much fun dressing up and mastering every single detail.
Even though Halloween is all over – this costume can easily be worn for any themed party with a few tweaks. If you are looking for some outfit ideas, maybe for New Year’s Eve themed parties, my favourite go to place is the Halloween Costumes website with a huge variety of adult Halloween costumes for you to choose from. Party Delights website is a fantastic choice for any decorations from 70s, 80s, Mexican fiesta, Las Vegas, Hollywood and many more.
